Currently in the midst of an extensive expansion and modernization project, Los Angeles International Airport could further improve the accessibility and efficiency of all major airline terminals by developing an American Monorail-proposed airport monorail system that would encircle the promenade and deliver passengers to and from each terminal on a continuous basis. The station concourse would be built into the front facades of each terminal building.

The monorail guide way would enter the airport after passing through a Century Boulevard station before entering a security monorail station, continuing along the concourse to each airline terminal, then returning to the Century Boulevard duel monorail guide way three miles to a Green Line light rail connector, or enter the northbound 405 Freeway median and the American Monorail-proposed LAX- West Los Angeles- Santa Clarita Commuter Express Monorail to Santa Clarita, 35 miles north of LAX.

American Monorail’s LAX- West Los Angeles- Santa Clarita Commuter Express Monorail is designed to transport hundreds of thousands of commuters and other passengers each day, supplemented by interlinked American Monorail-designed Santa Monica-Downtown Los Angeles, Santa Barbara-Los Angeles, Warner Center-Los Angeles River and San Fernando Valley-Chatsworth express monorails that would cross and intersect the Santa Clarita- LAX Commuter Express Monorail. This fluid and seamless airport monorail design would enhance and modernize Los Angeles International Airport beyond any current or planned renovation or expansion, while vastly improving the accessibility and efficiency airport services.

LAX- Green Line Connector

This 1.31 mile dual system connects the LAX Promenade Monorail to the existing Metro Green Line station by means of a transitional monorail station, with elevated and at grade guide ways. The portion of this line near the airport runways may be lowered to ground level or placed in a trench or tunnel for several hundred feet to maintain low profile structures and monorail operations.
