The Marina del Rey Monorail departs the guideway of the proposed LAX- West Los Angeles- Santa Clarita Commuter Express Monorail at the CA 405 Freeway median, proceeding 2.5 miles westward in the median of the CA 90 Marina Expressway to a commuter park-and-ride station at the periphery of the marina, continuing into the marina 1.3 miles to marina-side stations at Marina City Towers/Ritz- Carlton Hotel, and Mothers Beach recreation area. Traveling eastbound from the marina, the monorail guideway merges with the 405 Freeway guideway northbound toward West Los Angeles and Santa Clarita, or southbound toward Los Angeles International Airport.
